MEET Kimiya (She/Her)

Hi there!

I’m passionate about social justice, community care, and creating inclusive spaces where people feel seen and supported. With a background in social services, I’ve had the privilege of working closely with my community—an experience that has deepened my commitment to advocacy and care.

As a Client Care Coordinator, my goal is to ensure everything runs smoothly while making sure you feel comfortable and at ease.

I’m currently studying Linguistics at Simon Fraser University while also exploring Health Sciences. I have taken many courses in Gender and Women's studies and Sociology as well! My goal is to work in health policy, advocating for marginalized communities that face barriers and discrimination in accessing healthcare. I am particularly passionate about supporting Indigenous, 2SLGBTQIA+, and BIPOC communities.

As the daughter of immigrant parents from Iran, I was raised deeply immersed in my culture while also growing up on the unceded and ancestral territory of the kʷikʷəƛ̓əm (Kwikwetlem) peoples, also known as Coquitlam. Seeing the strength and resilience of my community continues to fuel my passion for humanity and sharing the wisdom and knowledge of our elders. I have also gone on my own healing journey in pursuit of wellness. Accessing therapy has empowered me to heal and move forward and foster a safe space for myself.

In my free time, you’ll likely find me tending to my plants, attempting to crochet, or taking a stroll around my neighbourhood - after all - I have to stop and take aesthetic sunset pictures to add to my collection!

I look forward to meeting you and supporting your journey to wellness!

In the meantime, I’ll leave you with this poem:

صد قطره ز ابر اگر به دریا ریزد
بی‌جنبش عشق درّ مکنون نشود
مولانا

If one hundred raindrops fall into the sea,
They will never turn into pearls without love.
— Rumi
